The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has extended the suspension of the Russian Paralympic Committee (PCR), which excludes the participation of Russians in the Paralympic Games-2018 in Pyeongchang.

This is stated on the official website of the organization.

Since the deadline for submitting applications for participation in the Games ends on February 23, the final decision regarding the admission of Russians will be made at a meeting of the Governing Council of the IGC on January 26-28.

The Russian side still must fulfill the five criteria necessary for the restoration of rights.

In particular, the Russian authorities did not provide evidence and explanations that would disprove the conclusions of the report of the independent commission of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) under the leadership of Richard McLaren on doping in Russian sports.

"Since the publication of the second part of McLaren's report in December last year, there is even more evidence supporting and adding weight to his conclusions. If the Russian authorities believe that the conclusions and evidence in the McLaren report are not credible, they should be provided with appropriate refuting evidence and explanations. While nothing was ", - said the head of the IPC Andrew Parsons, who is quoted as" R-Sport ".

Recall, due to the doping scandal Russians were not allowed to the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in August 2016.

In September 2017, the disqualification of the Russian Paralympic Committee was extended, but the Russians were allowed to participate in the selection for the Paralympic 2018 in neutral status in alpine skiing, biathlon, snowboarding and ski racing.
