The head coach of Manchester United Jose Mourinho confirmed that the defender of his team Erik Bayi may need an operation.

Defender Manchester United Eric Bayi was injured in the ankle in the match for the national team of Cote d'Ivoire back in October.

After returning to the club's location, he took part in matches against Benfica, Tottenham and Chelsea, but then he had a relapse.

"I think this is a serious injury. I do not know how much time he will spend outside the game, but this is a trauma, which he got back in the team, "said Mourinho.

"We are trying to heal it with conservative methods, but if they do not help, then it will need surgery, but I do not want to talk about it".

In the current season, 23-year-old Bayi spent 10 matches for Manchester United in all tournaments in which he scored one goal.
