Three consecutive years the Consulate General of Ukraine in New York draw up biometric passport documents of Ukrainian citizens for traveling abroad. They allow Ukrainians to take advantage of the possibility of visa-free travel to the EU countries from July this year.

At the same time, due to the considerable interest of Ukrainians living abroad and, in particular, in the USA, the number of applications to the consulate with petitions for registration of biometric passports increased sharply.

In the absence of sufficient premises in the building of the Consulate General, in order to accommodate all those wishing to apply for a biometric passport at once, and also because of the specifics of the data entry equipment, this led to the creation of lines in front of the General Consulate building, long expectations (sometimes several hours).
