Russian athletes will sue in Lausanne due to suspension from the Olympics-2018

22 Russian athletes, suspended from competition for anti-doping rule violation, filed suits in the Sports Arbitration Court (CAS).

On December 5, the disciplinary commission of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) dismissed the Russian national team from participating in the Olympics in Pyeongchang (February 9-25).

Appeals filed bobsledder Alexander Zubkov, Dmitry Trunenkov, Alex Negadaylo, Alexander Kasyanov, Alexei Pushkarev, Ilvir Khuzin and Olga Stulneva; skeletonists? Alexander Tretyakov, Sergei Chudinov, Elena Nikitina, Olga Potylitsyna, Maria Orlova. In addition, the appeal was filed by biathletes Olga Vilukhina and Yana Romanova, skiers Alexander Legkov, Evgeny Belov, Maxim Vylegzhanin, Alexei Petukhov, Yulia Ivanova and Evgenia Shapovalova, as well as skaters Olga Fatkulina and Alexander Rumyantsev.

All athletes who applied to Lausanne, asked the court to review their applications before the start of the Games-2018.

On the suit of each athlete a separate appellate procedure will be opened.

Recall, the decision of the IOC was made on the basis of the conclusions reached by the two commissions: Denis Oswald and Samuel Schmidt. The first was engaged in a re-examination of doping samples of participants of the Olympic Games in Sochi, the second investigated the involvement of Russian officials in doping frauds.

For the use of doping IOC took 11 medals from Russia. Russia lost the first place in the Olympics in Sochi on the number of medals.

In 2016, a doping scandal broke out after the reports of McLaren, who led the WADA investigation.

They said that Russian athletes were involved in the manipulation of doping tests at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi. In addition, Mutko was accused of doping fraud, and the replacement of doping tests with "clean" was involved senior officials of Russia.
