According to the results of autopsy and toxicological examination, the first analysis of Bennington's blood revealed traces of MDMA (ecstasy), but the results of the two subsequent tests disproved this, which led to the conclusion that at the time of death the deceased was not under the influence of drugs.

The widow of Bennington Talind told the publication that after a suicide attempt in 2006, the doctor prescribed her husband antidepressants, which Chester did not take more than a year.

The musician did not leave a suicide note, but the investigators found a hand-written "obvious biography". Earlier it was reported that in the house of Bennington, forensics did not find any drugs, only an open bottle of alcohol in the bedroom.
