The delegation headed by the Ambassador of France to Russia Silvia Bermann visited the goat farm "UMMC-Agro" within the framework of the four-day visit to the Urals and called for the development of Franco-Russian cooperation in the field of agriculture.

The excursion began with a visit to the new cheese shop of Verkhne-Pishmina dairy plant (part of UMMC-Agro) where 11 climatic zones are equipped to create a delicacy. At a special tasting, the guests were able to evaluate the cheeses cooked here - "Valance", "Bus" and "Camembert". According to Bermann, to taste the local product does not differ from the French one.

"This is a wonderful example of Franco-Russian cooperation. We tried the cheese, it was delicious. I believe that our countries should develop cooperation in the field of agriculture, this is an important work for both sides, "said the ambassador.

The delegation also visited the goat farm, where Sylvia Bermann took a picture with a kid. The main organizer of the new production for the region - the general director of UMMC-Agro Ilya Bondarev - recalled that a herd for a thousand heads was brought to the Sverdlovsk region from the south of France last fall. Now, after two lambing (the arrival of kids in the world), the total number of livestock is already 1,5 thousand animals.

"Everything that we have shown today was created in two years. We carefully studied foreign experience and in this we were actively helped by French colleagues. To organize our own farm, we visited more than 20 farms in Europe and beyond, because for today, goat breeding in Russia is undeveloped, "said Ilya Bondarev.

In the next one and a half to two years, the company plans to reach its full capacity. For this, the herd will be increased to 1,800 animals, and a large amount of work has been done to increase the productivity of animals. With the increase in the volume of raw milk, UMMC-Agro intends to increase the volume of cheese production, which will allow filling not only the local market, but also to enter the metropolitan retail chains. The first cheeses with white mold appeared under the trade mark COEUR du Nord ("Heart of the North") on the Ural counters in October.
