More than three years have passed since the beginning of the conflict in our areas. Despite the promise of the central authorities to complete the fighting, to protect civilians from the horrors of the war - in fact nothing was done. And the people are waiting and naively believing.

So far, we have heard shots and continue to live in fear for our lives, for the lives of relatives and children.

Often there are other terrible incidents in which it is not the war that is to blame but human irresponsibility and meanness.

So, very often the participants of the ATU, who are actually thrown into power, arrange drinking bouts, robberies, show aggression and violence to local civilians. And this is against the background and so very complex burden that war brought to our house. In fact, we do not see that the crimes committed by the outlawed military were adequately treated. There is a feeling that the war is profitable for somebody, and our eyes are completely blocked by the horror in our region.

Experience suggests that without direct popular participation this terrible, cannibalistic situation can not be solved. Therefore, already in seven cities in Lugansk and Donetsk regions volunteers with peaceful intentions are ready to perform, in contrast to the unfulfilled promises of politicians of different levels, to shortly finish, what was started not by us but tearing us from within. Volunteers who represent the "Movement for Peace" from Bakhmut, Konstantinovka, Svetlodarsk, Lisichansk, Severodonetsk, Kramatorsk and Slavyansk are ready to act as a single whole. Already today they are ready to support police officers, representatives of international organizations, as well as ATO participants who want to return home.

We urge you, Yuri Grigoryevich and you, Pavel Ivanovich, to support the people's peace initiative, to monitor and protect volunteers from provocations. But if you are suddenly not ready to support, the main thing that you can do for us is not to interfere. We also encourage the media to disseminate this letter and wait for news from the volunteer "Movement for Peace".
