ABC journalist Brian Ross, by decision of the channel's management, was suspended from work after the news about the president and his former national security adviser, Michael Flynn.

Flynn on Friday was formally charged with giving false testimony to the FBI regarding his meetings with representatives of the Russian authorities. He pleaded guilty. After this, ABC published a story in which presenter Brian Ross stated, with reference to the source, that Flynn is ready under oath to testify that during the election campaign in 2016 Trump asked him to "establish contacts with the Russians".

The channel presented this as a sensation. The news caused the collapse of quotations on US stock exchanges.

Then ABC released a correction of "sensation". The source said that he made a reservation and actually meant that Trump, after his election, asked Flynn to look for ways to establish contacts in the fight against the "Islamic state" (banned in Russia).
