The current contract of the 22-year-old attacking midfielder from Manchester City is valid for another 2.5 years, but the "townspeople" want to now extend it for a longer period.

This season, Sterling has already played 12 matches in the Premier League and managed to score nine goals and four assists.

Recall that Sterling moved to Man City in July 2015 from Liverpool and then signed a five-year contract.
