Alexander Spiridon is close to leading the national team of his native country.
According to the information of the Moldavian portal Newsmaker. md, Spiridon held a meeting with the president of the federation of football of Moldova Pavel Cebanu and will soon be officially appointed to the post of head coach of the national team.
Earlier, 57-year-old Spiridon already headed the national team of Moldova, taking up the post in the summer of 2001 and finalizing until December of the same year. Prior to that, he had been a member of the coaching staff of the national team for six years.
Since 2004, he was assistant Mircea Lucescu first in Donetsk Shakhtar, and then in St. Petersburg Zenit.
In addition to short experience as head coach of the national team, Spiridon also headed a number of Moldovan clubs.
