The Open University of Israel, which regularly conducts research in the field of genicology, the processes of gestation and the birth of children, conducted a regular observation, in which about 300 rosteners took part. Their task was to assess the degree of pain during labor and labor, which they had to give every 20 minutes according to a special scale, reflecting the degree of pain. The second stage was the establishment of a general assessment of painful sensations, which women gave two days after giving birth. The final assessment of the degree of pain of a woman was exposed two months after childbirth. These figures allowed us to establish curious patterns and take a fresh look at epidural anesthesia.

It turned out that the rozhennitsa, most often recalled the most painful moments, as well as the end of childbirth. These levels of pain were dictated by the memories of the births that were formed in women. These parameters were the basis for assessing the pain that women did two days and two months after the birth itself. Part of the women, using the advice of a gynecologist, chose epidural anesthesia for analgesia. As you know, epidural anesthesia can prolong the time of delivery, however, anesthesia forms more positive memories of this process, even despite the long duration.

According to the scientists, more positive memories of childbirth, which are typical of cases with the use of epidural anesthesia, are dictated by the fact that such anesthesia minimizes pain at the peak of pain and at the end of the birth process. According to one of the theories called "peak-end", a person remembers only the final and peak point of pain, forgetting about the lower in intensity sensations. In addition, the researchers believe that the duration of pain processes does not affect the nature of the memory.
