Company Nvidia at the event SuperComputing 2017 spoke about its achievements in the field of supercomputing technologies. At the moment, TOP500 lists 87 supercomputers using Nvidia accelerators.

In addition, among the top 20 Green500 rating systems, including the most energy-efficient supercomputers, 14 use Nvidia cards.

Against the background of these achievements, Nvidia said that it intends to build its own supercomputer. It will belong to the category of systems with artificial intelligence and will find application in the development of solutions for unmanned vehicles. The company claims that its system will be included in the top ten supercomputers with AI.

In addition, Nvidia has updated its SaturnV supercomputer, equipping it with 660 Nvidia DGX-1 units of a new generation, each of which includes eight Tesla V100 accelerators based on the latest GPV GV100 architecture of the Volta. Now SaturnV's performance in half-precision (FP16) calculations reaches approximately 660 PFLOPS, and with double precision (FP64) it's 40 PFLOPS.
