Law enforcers blocked the international channel of human trafficking

It is noted that simultaneously in Odessa and Nikolaev, a general interdepartmental group conducted a number of searches of citizens involved in illegal activities.

As a result of the searches, law enforcement officers found passport documents, contract forms with clubs in Turkey, draft notes, notebooks, telephones and laptops, flash media, receipts for the transfer of money, lists of female faces.

One of the suspects was suspected, he was detained. Currently, investigative actions are continuing and other persons involved in the case are being established.

Based on the results of the events held at the Odessa-Avia checkpoint, border guards, together with law enforcement officers, found two Ukrainian citizens who are victims of human trafficking.

Information on the crime is included in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The punishment provides for imprisonment for a term of three to eight years.

As previously reported in URA-Inform, during the nine months of 2017. Ukrainian law enforcers revealed 263 cases of human trafficking. According to this information - for the nine months of 2017. the police identified 263 criminal offenses referred to in article 149 (trafficking in human beings) of the country's Criminal Code. This is about three times more than it was for the whole 2016 g.
