World WBO featherweight champion Vasily Lomachenko continues preparations for the fight against the Cuban Guillermo Rigondeaux.
The Ukrainian has long waited for this fight, which he admitted in an interview with ESPN.
"We wanted to organize a fight against Rigondo a couple of years ago when I fought in another weight class - 126 pounds (first featherweight). Then it did not happen, but now we finally agreed.
I will try to show my best boxing, my best skills. I think that our confrontation will become a historical. For me, this fight is very important, because Rigondeaux is the top fighter, one of the leaders of the rating regardless of the weight category. It will be very interesting, because for me it is a great challenge, "said Lomachenko.
Note that the training camp of the Ukrainian traditionally settled in California.
Recall, the meeting between Lomachenko and Rigondo will take place on December 9, 2017 in New York at the world famous arena "Madison Square Garden", which can set a record for attendance.
