As is known, any theory has both its supporters and opponents. The theory of separate nutrition is no exception. And, I must say that the number of its opponents is increasing every year. Let's start with the fact that products that contain only proteins, fats or carbohydrates, practically does not exist in nature (the exception is pure sugar or egg protein). Now about the main thesis of the theory: undigested food, according to Sheldon, being in the esophagus and in the stomach, begins to rot, which leads to the formation of poisons that poison the body. Most dieticians are extremely negative about this statement. In their opinion, in a healthy person, food in the esophagus is digested, and does not accumulate at all. In addition, a normal stomach has an acidic environment in which microorganisms are killed that can cause food rot. And all the horrors that describe Sheldon, they can be observed in their opinion only in people with completely disrupted functions of the gastrointestinal tract.
