If the watch remains undamaged after the prescribed five rounds of shots, the competitors must present their watchman with a new watch.

The tradition of shooting at the batches of the battalion commander originated in 1994, when Colonel Aarne Ermus, who was then commander of the Kuperyanovsk battalion, was angry at the clock that was incorrectly showing his time and decided to make a target for shooting, in order, among other things, to encourage servicemen to improve their skills in shooting.

Until now, the clock remained intact only in 2007, and then the participants of the competition were forced to buy the commander a wall clock.
