Intel introduced 750-gigabyte Optane for data centers

Intel company announced new solid-state drives Optane, intended for use in data centers. A 750-gigabyte Intel Optane SSD DC P4800X.

The device uses technology 3D XPoint, which, according to the developers, combines all the advantages of all available in the market memory technology. 3D XPoint assumes high performance and density of components, low power consumption and affordable price. Such memory is up to 1,000 times faster and has 1000 times longer lifetime compared to NAND flash memory, according to Intel.

Intel Optane SSD DC P4800X drives are available as PCI-E expansion cards and 2.5-inch devices with a U. In both cases, the data transmission channel is four lines of the PCI Express 3 interface.

The maximum sequential read and write speeds reach 2400 and 2000 MB / s, respectively, and the performance when working with blocks of 4 KB is up to 500,000 IOPS operations for recording.
