Talks about the cancellation of the compulsory eight-hour working day are being carried out in the developed countries for several years. The other day, the need to introduce a more flexible work schedule to maintain the competitiveness of German companies said the chairman of the Council of Economic Experts under the Government of the FRG Christophe Schmidt.

"The idea that a working day begins in the office in the morning and ends with leaving the office is out of date," Schmidt said in an interview with Welt am Sonntag.

He also warned that changes in the schedule of work led to a hidden increase in working time. "We should only talk about the fact that existing working hours are more flexibly distributed during the day and week," the expert said..

German employers have long been demanding the abolition of an eight-hour working day, keeping only the current rate of 48 working hours a week.

The need to cancel the eight-hour presence in the office is also spoken by Russian specialists. For example, in the conditions of large cities, people spend only a long time to work and back a large amount of not only time, but also energy. In addition, the hour-long lunch break is often not enough to restore strength.
