Fast-growing sales of gaming devices and business notebooks allowed Acer to increase revenue and gain record profits over the past seven years.
It follows from Acer's financial report that in July-September 2017 the company recorded revenues of 60.58 billion Taiwan dollars (2 billion US dollars), which is 13% and 3.4% more than the three-month and one-year-old.
Net profit jumped 482% year on year, reaching 1.45 billion Taiwan dollars (46.3 million US dollars). This profit has become the largest for the last 27 quarters, notes DigiTimes information portal.

Acer's revenues grew despite the fall of the computer market. According to analysts Gartner, in the third quarter of 2017, desktop and laptop shipments globally amounted to just over 67 million units, down 3.6% from a year earlier. This quarterly decline was the 12th consecutive order.
According to Gartner, in July-September Acer shipped 4.3 million PCs, which is 6.2% less than a year ago. The company showed the worst dynamics of sales among the leaders and took the sixth place in the overall standings.
Acer reports that about two thirds of the proceeds from the sale of IT equipment is accounted for by laptops. The share of desktop computers was 13%, monitors - 12%. A year earlier, this ratio was measured at 64% 15% and 12%, respectively.
The majority of IT products Acer sells in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa), which accounted for 38% of sales in the third quarter of 2017. In the Asia-Pacific region, the rate was 33%, in the South and North America - 29%.
The fastest growing product category in the assortment of Acer are gaming solutions, the implementation of which in the past quarter jumped by 168% and exceeded 10% of the total. Sales of laptops to corporate customers increased by 40%, in the segment of chrome-bricks there was an increase of 27%.
Also the manufacturer pays attention to the 30% rise of the so-called new business, to which Acer refers cloud services and e-commerce.
