Former Liverpool goalkeeper leads New England Revolution

New England Revolution announced the appointment of Brad Friedel as head coach.

Former US goalkeeper Brad Friedel appointed as head coach of the MLS club New England Revolution.

Completing his playing career in 2015, during which he played more than 600 games for Newcastle, Brondby, Galatasaray, Columbus Crewe, Liverpool, Blackburn, Aston Villa and Tottenham, in January 2016, Friedel led the US team U-19.

In addition, he was assistant coach of the US team U-20, which won the CONCACAF Cup 2017.

Last season New England Revolution took the seventh place in the Eastern Conference of the MLS and the 15th in the general table, after which Jay Hips was dismissed.
