The government approved the National Waste Management Strategy until 2030

According to the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Ostap Semerak, the strategy provides for seven sections in accordance with seven groups of waste. Among them household, construction, agricultural, as well as batteries and batteries and others.

It is planned to create 500 regional centers for waste management. Local governments are also required to create a system of points of re-use of certain goods, for example, furniture.

According to the Minister, waste management for energy, feed and other resources should become a priority in the field of agricultural waste management.. It is noteworthy that after the adoption of the strategy, the next item will be the preparation and adoption of national and regional plans for waste management.

As previously reported in URA-Inform, Ukraine ranks 77th in the Global Competitiveness Index. The Ukrainian state loses more than 15 percent of its crop due to air pollution, the economy loses up to 11 percent of GDP due to environmental problems. More frighteningly, only every two hours at least three Ukrainians perish or fall ill as a result of bad ecology.
