Victims of Typhoon Damrey in Vietnam are more than 40 people

"Damrey" became the 12th typhoon in Vietnam and the most severe natural disaster in the past 20 years.

According to the coordinating committee, as a result of heavy rains and the flood caused by them, more than 116,000 dwellings were flooded and damaged.

More than 30 thousand people were forced to leave their homes, fleeing from flooding. The element has deprived many areas of electricity and communication with the outside world, there remain flooded more than 40 thousand hectares of agricultural land.

Also under water were a 30-kilometer section of the railway linking the north and south of the country, as well as many stretches of the Trans-Vietnamese motorway.

The government promptly deployed large-scale reconstruction works in the affected provinces.

As previously reported in URA-Inform, in Japan, where the typhoon "Lan" is raging, at least five people have already died. 90 people injured due to storm. In the Wakayama Prefecture on the main Japanese island of Honshu, an 82-year-old pensioner whose house was destroyed by a landslide was missing. In addition, in Fukuoka, a 63-year-old local resident was crushed by scaffolding, knocked down by squally winds.
