At the end of July 2015, Microsoft allegedly closed the free period to upgrade to the new version of the Windows 10 operating system. However, it's no secret that to go for free with Windows 7, 8 or 8. 1 to the latest version of Windows 10 with the latest updates can be done with a special utility for users with disabilities. Now it became known that Microsoft officially closes this "loophole" for all owners of computers running Windows 8, 8. 1 and 7.

December 31, 2017 is marked on the English-language portal of Microsoft as the last day, when everyone can upgrade to Windows 10 for free. At the time of writing, there is no similar warning on the Russian portal.
