Since the beginning of the current marketing year, Ukraine has exported almost 14.4 million tons of grain crops. This was reported in the State Service of Ukraine on food safety and consumer protection. Compared with last year's figures there is a slight decrease in exports of this product.
This was announced by the Chairman of the State Consumer Protection Service Vladimir Lapa during the conference "Export of grain from Ukraine".
"Last year, as of the same period, this figure was almost 15.3 million tonnes. There is some decline, which is partly due to the fall in gross grain harvest in Ukraine, and partly - to the issue of grain logistics, "said Vladimir Lapa. Of the total number of exported cereals, more than 8.5 million tonnes were wheat (including 4.8 million tons - food and 3.7 million tonnes forage), 3.5 million tonnes - barley, 1.9 million tonnes - corn.
Over the same period last marketing year, 15.3 million tons of grain were exported, in particular 9 million tons of wheat (including 4.7 million tons of food and 4.3 million tons of feed wheat), barley - more than 3.7 million tons, maize - 2.3 million tons). Also within this marketing year, almost 2.1 million tons of oilseed crops were exported, including: rapeseed - 1.7 million tons, soybean - 0.4 million tons. As of the same date last year, the export of oilseeds was 1.2 million tons (including rapeseed - more than 0.7 million tons, soybean - 0.43 million tons).
In general, according to the forecast of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, in 2017 / 18marketing year Ukraine will collect the second largest crop for the recent history of Ukraine - 62 million tons. The record gross harvest of cereals (66 million tons with a yield of 46.1 centner / ha) Ukraine collected in 2016.
The decisive for the generalized forecast was the harvest of wheat and maize, which form 80% of the gross yield. As of October 31, 2017, corn was harvested from 55% of the area, 11.7 million tons were harvested. The average yield is 47.4 c / ha, whereas in 2016, 58.3 c / ha.
A total of cereals and legumes harvested 49.8 million tons. 20% of acreage remains untreated. The main factor that influenced the decline in yields was the low level of precipitation during the vegetation period. Most of all they lost the moisture of the field in Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovograd, Mykolayiv and Odessa regions.
