During the performance of the combat mission in the Marinka area today, on November 1, around 11:30, Major of the National Guard of Ukraine Sergei Sirotenko was killed. Another guardsman wounded. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to preliminary data, as a result of the mine explosion Sergei Sirotenko was injured, incompatible with life. Another soldier-contractor received a fragmentation wound. Now he is being provided with medical care in a medical institution.

Sergei Sirotenko was called to mobilize in February 2015. Since June 2016 - in the military service under the contract.

The deceased had a wife and two children.
