On Monday, October 30, French President Emmanuel Macron signed a controversial anti-terrorism law that gives the authorities permanent powers to conduct searches or restrict the movements of suspected extremists. As the head of state noted during the signing of the document, this will allow to end the state of emergency from November 1, completely ensuring the safety of our citizens.

At the same time, Makron noted that during the drafting of the bill, "constant debate". According to him, in two years the new law will be re-evaluated. At the same time, human rights defenders in the country expressed fears that such inspections will be used mainly against migrants and minorities, especially against Muslims.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, the French Senate passed a new antiterrorist law on October 19.
