Pupil of the Sverdlovsk Judo School Yana Polyakova became the second in the European Judo Cup, held in Spanish Malaga. Yekaterinburg, without defeats, reached the final, where she was confronted by the most experienced athlete from Holland, Antoinette Henning. In a stubborn struggle, Jan lost and became the silver medalist of the tournament.
"I just did not have enough experience in the final. The Dutch judoist won by experience. But this does not detract from the merits of Polyakova. She recently began to speak on adults, but has already shown her fighting nature, which, of course, did not go unnoticed by the coaching staff of the national team ", - commented on the performance of his ward coach Sergey Yemelyanov.
It should be noted that Yana Polyakova became the only Russian woman who won the award at such a prestigious tournament. In all, 317 athletes from 28 countries fought for the victory in the Spanish city of Malaga. The Russian national team was represented by five men and the same number of women. At the moment, Yana is a member of the team's application for the Grand Prix in judo. In addition, it is on the upcoming tournaments that the national team for the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020 will be formed.
