Lekens led the national team of Hungary

Belgian coach Georges Lekens became the new head coach of the national team of Hungary.

The Football Federation of Hungary announced the appointment of Georges Lekens as head coach of the national team.

In this post, the Belgian replaced Bernd Storck, who resigned after he failed to bring the Hungarians to the 2018 World Cup.

This is already the 24th coaching appointment for the 68-year-old Lekens, who began his coaching career in 1984. From 2010 to 2012 he coached the national team of Belgium, and the last place for him was the team of Algeria.

Among his coaching achievements victory in the Belgian Cup 1984/85 with Cercle Brugge and two trophies with Bruges - Belgium Cup and the 1989/90 Belgian Cup 1990/91.

The agreement of Lekens with the Hungarian national team is designed for two years.
