Japanese technology giant Hitachi raised its annual operating profit forecast and expects a record result of 660 billion yen (5.79 billion dollars) on the back of solid financials in key business areas related to semiconductor, construction equipment and information and telecommunication equipment systems.

The planned Hitachi amount of 30 billion yen ($ 262.8 million) exceeds the previous estimate. If the company achieves its target, its operating profit in the current financials will increase by 12%, Nikkei reports..

The company also raised its revenue forecast and now expects a 2 per cent rise and an annual turnover of 9.3 trillion yen (about 81.5 billion dollars), which is 250 billion yen higher than the previous estimate.

At the same time, Hitachi left unchanged the net profit forecast. In this fining, which runs through March 2018, the company expects to improve the figure by 30% and bring it up to 300 billion yen ($ 2.62 billion).

The Japanese conglomerate announced a new assessment together with the report for the first six months of the fiscal year. The revenue of Hitachi in the period from April to September 2017 increased by 1% year-on-year to 4.37 trillion yen (38.3 billion dollars), while net profit jumped by 42% to 160 billion yen (1.4 billion dollars), the company reported.
