The construction of a new two-track railway Beskydy tunnel in the Carpathians, which is located 30 meters from the current technically worn tunnel.

The length of the tunnel with two railway canvases was 1764.5 meters.

For the first time the construction of the tunnel was started in 2011.

In 2014, the European Investment Bank announced the allocation of a loan of 55 million euros to Ukraine for the construction of the Beskydy Railway Tunnel in the Carpathians, which will connect Ukraine and the European Union.

Beskid Tunnel - the second longest railway tunnel in Ukraine. It is located between the Beskid and Skotarskoe stations in the Carpathians and is included in the Fifth Pan-European Transport Corridor Italy - Slovenia - Hungary - Slovakia - Ukraine - Russia.

The tunnel was built in 1886 and has already exhausted its operational resource, in addition, its weak throughput imposes restrictions on the entire international transport corridor.

The new double-track tunnel has a length of 1765 meters, a width of 10.5 meters, a height of 8.5 meters and lies at a maximum depth of 180 meters from the surface of the Beskids Ridge.
