The White House believes that the phone number of the head of the staff of the presidential administration of the United States John Kelly could be hacked in December 2016. This is reported by Politico with reference to three unnamed officials.

According to the publication, it is suspected that hackers of "another state" could get access to information from Kelly's personal phone when he was minister of national security.

The White House technicians discovered a vulnerability in the smartphone of the White House chief of staff when he complained that the device was not being updated properly. Also, Kelly admitted that the phone worked poorly for several months.

White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said that Kelly did not use this phone since he took over as White House chief of staff. Then he was given a new smartphone.

Sources told the publication that it is not yet known what information hackers could get from the hacked device.
