The telecommunications industry is confidently moving towards the development of fifth-generation communication technologies (5G). The launch of such services is scheduled for the end of the current decade. Huawei named the most promising ranges for the commercialization of 5G.

The 5G platform is more than just a new standard for mobile networks. Operators have to significantly upgrade their infrastructure by switching to new models of work. Technology 5G will form the basis of smart home and smart city, as well as unmanned vehicles. In addition, fifth-generation networks will contribute to the development of augmented and virtual reality systems.

In the company Huawei say that the platform 5G will have full spectral access. For the Massive MIMO antenna technology, which provides ubiquitous coverage at low latency, the best option is the C-band (with a recommended bandwidth of 100 MHz). At the same time, the global harmonization of the spectrum is guided by the mmWave range, which is characterized by a balance of efficiency and costs, a rich frequency resource and coverage restriction.

It is assumed that the C-band (as defined by the IEEE, this range extends from 4 to 8 GHz of the electromagnetic spectrum) will become the first key group of 5G frequencies around the world. The most promising high-frequency bands for the early commercialization of 5G on a global scale are 26 GHz and 39 GHz (mmWave).
