Steve Cotterill took over as head coach of Champions of Birmingham City.

Birmingham announced the appointment of Steve Cotterill as the manager of the first team.

In this post, the 53-year-old Englishman will replace Harry Redknapp, who was retired due to unsatisfactory results.

Contract Cotterill with Birmingham is designed for two and a half years.

Cotterill was Redknapp's assistant in the last three games of last season, but in the summer he declined the opportunity to stay in the club.

Also for his coaching career, Cotterill worked with Bristol City, Nottingham Forest, Portsmouth, Notts County, Burnley, Stoke City, Cheltenham Town and Sligo Rovers.
