Parents of the American student Otto Warmbir told about the monstrous state of their son when he was taken from North Korea to the United States, the BBC reports..

Fred and Cindy Warmbier, in an interview with Fox News, described the son of their North Koreans as "terrorists" who tortured him systematically.

Otto Warmbir was arrested in Pyongyang and placed 17 months in jail for having stolen an agitation poster from the hotel, reports the Main with reference to Newsader.

In June 2017, he was released from prison for medical reasons, and he died a few days after his arrival at home.

American doctors did not find obvious traces of physical violence on the body of a young man, however a tomography study showed a severe cerebral trauma associated with heart failure.

North Korea has consistently denied torture, stating that they were treated "in accordance with international rules," and that in prison he contracted botulism, but US doctors did not find his traces in Warmbir.

In his first media interview, his parents noted that now is the time to tell the truth about the state of their 22-year-old son.

Doctors in the United States earlier said that the young man was in a vegetative state, but the Wormbiri spouses said that calling it a coma "would be unfair".

They reported that when they saw their son [after coming from the DPRK], he "staggered from side to side, jerking at the same time and making out howling, inhuman sounds".

He had a shaved head, he was blind and deaf, his arms and legs were "completely deformed," and there was a huge scar on his leg.

"It looked like someone just picked up the mites and moved all the lower teeth to him. Otto was constantly tortured, and he was intentionally harmed by Kim Jong-un and his regime. This is not an accident, "- said Fred Wormbir.

He also said that the government did not inform the family about any information from his death.

His wife added that the DPRK authorities had sent Otto home because "they did not want him to die on their territory".

She also explained that the family refused to conduct an autopsy, because she decided that he had suffered enough. "I wanted him to be with me all the time," said Cindy Warmbir.

She also urged people not to travel to North Korea, saying that this only plays into the hands of Pyongyang's propaganda.

American citizens are now prohibited from traveling to the DPRK.

Meanwhile, local American newspapers questioned some of the statements made by Warmbirds.

The newspaper Cincinnati Enquirer reported that it received a copy of the coroner's report on the external examination of Otto Wormbury's body, where several small scars were listed, but nothing that would indicate torture.

The newspaper cited a reference to the coroner of Hamilton County, who noted in the report that the young man's teeth were "their own, and in good condition," and that he died, in all probability, from brain damage caused by oxygen starvation.

President of the United States Donald Trump, who used to watch the news program of Fox and Friends, wrote in Twitter that it was an "outstanding interview" and that "Otto in North Korea was terribly tortured".

This presidential commentary, most likely, will add to the growing tension in relations between the DPRK and the US, which have repeatedly exchanged accusations and threats to each other recently, including nuclear strikes.
