The fire arose on the morning of Monday, September 25. Rescuers are now still trying to put out the fire.

According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations in the Kharkov region, information about the fire in the territory of the municipal solid waste landfill of the management of housing and communal services, architecture and town planning of the Kupyansk City Council arrived about eight o'clock in the morning.

During the reconnaissance it was established that in the open area there is garbage on an area of ??approximately 200 square meters. Together the fire was localized this morning about ten o'clock.

Today, the elimination of the fire continues, several local garbage burning sites remain in the landfill in large layers of household waste. At the same time, the ministry explained that the fire spreads inside the garbage dump and burning of garbage is accompanied by the release of a large amount of toxic smoke and, as a result, the smoke of a large area around. This, according to the information of rescuers, complicates the liquidation of the fire.

According to preliminary data, the cause of the fire could be the careless handling of fire, - noted in the State Emergency Service.

At the scene of the incident sent firefighters from Rokitny, Volodarka, Fastov, Skvyry, Tetieva, Vasilkov and Chabanov.
