As noted, all voters come to the polls to vote, look for their names on the lists and put a thumbprint. Also, citizens of Iraq registered in Baghdad-disputed areas populated by Kurds may take part in the referendum. In turn, for voters outside this country, online voting is organized on a special website.
It should be added that voting is organized in schools, hospitals, administrative and public institutions. At the moment, at least 5.2 million people have already registered at polling stations.
Nevertheless, not only the neighbors of Iraq, Iran and Turkey are speaking against the referendum on the independence of Kurdistan, but also the international community. In addition, the United Nations, the United States and Great Britain see in the referendum the risk of further destabilization of the region.
Recall, as previously reported, "URA-Inform," the Turkish authorities consider an adventure a referendum on the independence of Iraqi Kurdistan, which is scheduled for September 25, 2017 in northern Iraq.
