Tens of thousands of people were evacuated to Bali because of the danger of volcanic eruptions

In connection with the danger of the eruption of the volcano Agung on the Indonesian island of Bali, tens of thousands of people were evacuated. The number of people transferred to a safe place was 34,000, a representative of Indonesia's Emergency Situations Office. Due to the threat of an eruption, the fourth, highest level of danger was declared.

The authorities called residents of settlements located at a distance of up to 9 kilometers from the volcano, to leave their homes. Volcanologists fear that for the first time in the last half-century the eruption of Agunga. From the volcano, white smoke rises, only on September 23 there were recorded more than a hundred tremors. A representative of the rescuers said that tourists are out of danger.

As a result of recent eruptions in 1963-64, more than 1,000 people were killed.
