Ukraine needs militarization of society following the example of Western experience.

This opinion was voiced in the interview to "Apostrophe" by the People's Deputy of Ukraine, the deputy chairman of the Committee for National Security and Defense, the UDD commander, the former leader of the "Right Sector" Dmitry Yarosh.

As an example, he cites the Estonian system "Kiteseliyt", in which different categories of population are involved.

"And even the old grandfather, if he is in the" Kiteselyte, "clearly knows that if Russia attacks, he must go and take off the sign at the entrance to the village in order to mislead the enemy. Even in such details everything is thought out - how people can be involved, "says Jarosz.

As an example for imitation, the deputy also leads neighboring Poland, in which territorial volunteer brigades are built along voivodships.

"But this, again, one of the aspects. Therefore, we must conduct the militarization of society. Because, as I say, there are constant threats. And militarization begins with children and youth. In the same Poland, there are first paramilitar and youth organizations, then this volunteer territorial defense, and then - the armed forces, "he says, adding that the experience of the Swiss defense model is also useful when a neutral state can mobilize and expose a neutral state in a week several million people.

"No one in Europe is afraid of this. And this does not violate the government's monopoly on violence, as the president, the defense minister, and other officials so often say. The only trouble is that our authorities often fear their own people more than the external enemy. I think that's why there are such delays as with my draft law on the volunteer army, "says the MP, noting that the law could be enacted literally in a couple of weeks.
