It is known that the fertility of a woman depends on the follicular reserve. A new study has shown that ripening of the follicle can occur even if the natural stock has exhausted itself.

Stem cells are in the ovaries throughout the life of a woman and affect the production of eggs. This discovery will restore fertility when the follicular reserve is exhausted or because of infertility caused by cancer treatment.

However, scientists from the University of Tonga Jiao in China warn that it is too early to talk about a method of treating infertility.

It was believed that the production of oocytes (oocytes) is completed at the time of human birth. However, earlier the opinion was expressed about the existence of germinal stem cells (GSK), which continue the production of oocytes.

In the new study, scientists were able to isolate these cells in mice of five-day age and in adult individuals. In isolation, stem cells were multiplied, and then part of them was transplanted to infertile mice.

It turned out that GSK gave life to new oocytes and returned fertility to experimental subjects.

Scientists believe that these stem cells are a huge potential for the treatment of infertility.
