Commission on the renaming of the Kyiv City State Administration supported the initiative in the decommunization to rename the station in "Pochayna". Now, according to the press service of the "Samopomochi" faction, in order for the renaming to take place, the decision should be supported by the deputies of KSCA.

At the same time, the initiators of the renaming are sure that this must be done, since such a decision is in accordance with the law on decommunization. Petrovka is named in honor of the revolutionary Petrovsky, who has done a lot for Ukraine, and Pochayna is the name of the river that flows there, the deputies explained, adding that the best name, in their opinion, for the station is not.

Members of the commission unanimously supported the initiative, - said the deputy Konstantin Bogatov, who initiated the changes. He also explained that his initiative was supported by public discussions that lasted two months and nearly two thousand residents of the capital took part in them. 73% of them supported the change in the name of the metro station, - the deputy assured.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, in the capital still left to rename about ten streets. Renaming will take place within the framework of the law on decommunization. This was announced by the head of Kiev Vitali Klitschko.
