The series "Story of a Servant" won this year's Emmy Award in the category "Outstanding Television Drama".

The journalist of Recode site Rani Molla believes that this victory is not only the service of streaming video broadcasting Hulu, which took off this sentimental story, but also the whole sector of video streaming.

In recent years streamers such as Netflix, Amazon and Hulu have invested in the creation of original software, and their investments are paying off, as evidenced by the number of Emmy awards they receive.

This year, The Handmaid's Tale in the original received three Emmy Awards - as the best series, for the best female lead (Elizabeth Moss) and for directing (Reed Morano). In the past and the year before last, for the main male role and directing, he received the prizes of the comedy drama series Obvious (Transparent in the original) produced by Amazon. In 2013, in the nomination "Directing" the award was given to the drama series "House of Cards" from Netflix. It was the first product of a video streaming service that won an Emmy. However, these are only the biggest victories.

In total this year, streaming video services "took" 32 Emmy awards. For comparison, the products of the American cable and satellite network of the IEE received only 29 figurines.

Such a number of awards should disturb the "big three" of the most influential foreign broadcasters - CBS, ABC and NBC - who have already felt the outflow of viewers on the Internet.

On the series "The Story of a Servant" is an anti-utopia, the action of which occurs in the pseudo-religious theocratic state of Gilead. Only one in 100 women in Gilead can have a child. "Lucky" is sent to special camps so that they conceive children for soldiers of the country.

About the award The Emmy Award is a television analogue of the Oscar (for cinema), the Grammy Award (for music) and the Tony Award (for the theater).
