Our proposal is very clear: the peacekeepers will only guard the OSCE special mission and only if the observers fulfill the functions resulting from the Minsk accords. Any other mission of the peacekeeping mission will mean the removal of these agreements.

This position was voiced by Russia on Tuesday evening, September 19, after talks with the Secretary of State of the United States of America Rex Tillerson, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. At the same time, he once again stated that the Russian draft resolution on peacekeepers in the Donbass remains in the form in which it was after the conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Work on the draft resolution has not been stopped and Moscow is waiting for the proposals of other countries, "Lavrov said..

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, Washington stands for the deployment of UN peacekeepers in the Donbass, including on the border with Russia, and insists that they have a broad mandate.
