Specialists of the anti-virus company Avast have detected a virus in the 32-bit version of CCleaner 5. 33. 6162 and CCleaner Cloud 1 versions. 07. 3191. Both versions were released in mid-August.
"We decided this quickly and believe that none of our users are harmed," - informed the company Piriform, developed the "kliner".
In her estimation, the hacked version of the program could install approximately 2.3 million of the 130 million users.
Who is behind the attack is unknown. Developers are cooperating with US law enforcement agencies that are investigating this case.
