The Verkh-Isetsky District Court sentenced the servant of the Shirokorechensky cemetery to Alexei Filonov. He was found guilty under part 2 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (receipt of a bribe by a public official in a significant amount).
The court found that Filonov received bribes from relatives of the deceased for providing land for burial. Rewards ranged from 30 to 100 thousand rubles for one grave. At the same time the cemetery belongs to the municipality, and the plots on it are provided by the city for free.
Relatives of the deceased themselves wrote statements to the caretaker, so they were released from criminal liability for giving bribes.
It is curious that at the time of the meeting Filonov was already in prison for the same crimes. In March 2016, the Verkh-Isetsky court sentenced him to 8 years imprisonment in a strict-security colony.
On September 14, 2017, Verkh-Isetsky District Court sentenced Aleksey Filonov to 10 years of imprisonment in a strict-regime colony with a fine of 9 million rubles to the state's income, as well as to deprivation of the right to hold office in municipal institutions on 3 years.
