The increase could provoke an increase in budget expenditures and pension payments. Such an opinion on Thursday, September 14, during a briefing in Kiev, said Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Oleg Chury.
According to him, consumption, which is already noticeably brightening amid rising wages, may receive an additional stimulus. At the same time, an increase in the minimum wage can also create inflationary pressures on labor costs, as it can reflect pressure on cost, especially in services, "he explained, adding that high price growth rates could trigger a change in the trend in improving inflation expectations, which was observed during the last two years.
