Sales volumes of flagship smartphones LG V30 will be higher than the previous model V20, market observers believe. In their opinion, buyers should attract high-end OLED-display, improved design and more attractive price than competing devices.

Analysts believe that the new device should serve as an incentive for the mobile business, but at the same time note that the success of one smartphone is unlikely to be enough to restore a loss-making unit.

"According to our estimates, this year LG can realize from 1.3 to 1.5 million smartphones V30. This is more in comparison with the previous model, sales of which were within 1.1 million units. V30 can not fundamentally change the situation in LG's mobile unit, but at least the device should give impetus and break stagnation in this business, "said Dongbu Securities analyst Kwon Sung Ryul, whose opinion is led by The Korea Times.

LG V30 is equipped with a high-quality 6-inch frameless FullVision OLED display with an aspect ratio of 18: 9. Specialists note that with this novelty the company clearly demonstrated its ability to produce high-quality and advanced smartphones to consumers, despite the continuing losses.

Another factor that can attract buyers, may be the price. According to The Korea Herald, V30 smartphones will be cheaper than the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8, as well as the next generation iPhone.

LG will open the receipt of preliminary orders for V30 this Thursday, September 14, and sales of devices start a week later, on September 21. First of all, the novelty will appear on the market of South Korea, and then other countries will follow.

The cost of the LG V30 with a built-in 64GB storage in the homeland will be 949300 won (about 839 US dollars), and the purchase of a 128-gigabyte version will cost 998,800 won (882 dollars).

For comparison, smartphones Galaxy Note 8, whose retail sales should begin on Friday, are offered at a price of 1.09 million won (over 963 dollars). Observers point out that this is the most expensive model in the history of Samsung.

It is worth adding that the success of the V30 smartphones largely depends on the fate of LG's mobile business, which registers losses over the past nine consecutive quarters. In April-June 2017, losses in this division amounted to 132.4 billion won.

Gradually, LG reduces losses, but when the smartphone business can return to profitability, it is difficult to say because of strong competition in the market, said earlier the head of the unit Juno Cho (Juno Cho).
