But the Ministry of Health of Ukraine together with Gosstandart developed the Draft Law "On Amendments and Additions to the Law" On the Quality and Safety of Food and Food Raw Materials ", which was submitted in late 2001 to the Cabinet of Ministers. This project has already been approved by the government committee, and should be submitted for approval to the Verkhovna Rada. The Law provides for an item on keeping the state register of dietary supplements. The law should be considered and adopted shortly, t. some of its provisions are harmonized with the European legislation; its acceptance will be aroused by the fact that Ukraine seeks to join the World Trade Organization, whose main provisions are taken into account in this Law.

In addition, with the filing of the Ministry of Labor, a few months after the adoption of the Law "On the Quality and Safety of Food and Food Raw Materials", the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted Resolution No. 1187 of July 30, 1998. "On approval of the procedure for classifying food products as special", where it is established that the assignment of food products to the category of special products and the harmonization in accordance with the established procedure of the norms for the use of these products is carried out only on the basis of a positive conclusion of the state sanitary and hygienic examination approved by the chief state sanitary doctor of Ukraine or authorized person.
