The owner of the ritual store in the Smolensk region was convicted for six and a half years for killing a drinking companion with a wooden cross, the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia.
According to the agency, in June 2015, a convict with three drinking companions drank alcohol in his store.
"In the process of drinking spirits between one of the citizens and an individual entrepreneur a conflict arose, the motives to which were the suspicion of the theft of funds, and the fact that the guests switched on their music on their mobile phones and began singing songs, not responding to the comments of the store owner ", Reads the message.
The office adds that during the quarrel the businessman started beating one of his drinking companions with a wooden cross. "The victim was injured, from which he died in a medical institution," - said the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.
The businessman was charged with causing serious injuries, which resulted in the death of a person by imprudence, and sentenced him to seven and a half years in a strict-security colony. However, the convict appealed the sentence.
According to the agency, "as a circumstance mitigating punishment, immoral behavior of the victim is recognized", in this connection the appellate instance reduced the term of imprisonment by one year.
