Scientists came to the conclusion that natural selection among people continues to this day. Human genes evolve, and within one or two generations this can lead to an increase in life expectancy.

Researchers analyzed more than 200 thousand people and came to the conclusion that the human genome is still in development. Scientists from Columbia University have discovered that the process of natural selection will eliminate in it mutations that shorten a person's life, writes Haytec with reference to Futurism.

According to researchers, evolutionary changes can occur within one or two generations. It turned out that genes that are associated with Alzheimer's disease, cardiovascular diseases, high cholesterol, obesity, asthma, or addiction to nicotine are much less common in people who live long.

It is also likely that people who do not tolerate these harmful mutations may have more children. Thus, unfavorable genes are not transmitted to the next generation. This is not a very obvious process, but it says that natural selection among people continues to this day.

It is projected that in 2030 the expected life expectancy will exceed 90 years, and this is not the limit. Recently, scientists have denied the conclusion about the "ceiling" of life expectancy at 115 years, and life extension technologies can help these predictions come true.
