Izvestia reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin promised to take serious measures in case of failure to implement programs for the development of the Far East at the State Council devoted to the development of the region.

The President urged the government to promptly make the necessary changes to ensure funding for integrated development programs in the region.

The head of state added: "I will analyze this, seriously, that's my word of honor. I will look at it in the most serious way. And who will not do this - I want everyone to hear - appropriate measures will be taken. It will be necessary to involve people then in these ministries and departments that understand the priorities of the country's development. I ask you to bear this in mind and correct the situation ".

As previously reported, the Russian Federation invited Japan to jointly build a bridge between Hokkaido and Sakhalin. This is intended to increase the economic attractiveness of the region and develop the tourism industry.
